Enrollment & Fees for Global Students
The information on this page applies to global students, defined as students who are not enrolled in a Virginia public school. This includes private school students, homeschooled students, out-of-state students, and international students.
Textbooks, fees, and other materials are the responsibility of the enrolling party.
Grades K–5
Virtual Virginia’s K–5 students are enrolled full-time with daily synchronous instruction. Grades K–5 require a minimum of 25 enrollments by June 1, 2025.

Grades 6–12
VVA students in grades 6–12 may be enrolled either full-time or as supplemental enrollments in individual courses.

Enrollment Fee Payment
Enrollment fee payments for global students are the responsibility of the enrolling party. Enrollment fee payments for the 2025–2026 academic year are due prior to the course start date and must be made online by debit/credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover). Failure to pay enrollment fees may result in the withdrawal of the student(s) from their respective courses. If the matter is referred for collection to an attorney or to a collection agency, then the debtor will be liable for attorney’s fees or additional collection fees of the unpaid balance. Enrollment in Virtual Virginia is deemed to be acceptance of these terms.
Refund Policy
- For 2025–2026 global student enrollments, if a student is withdrawn within 30 calendar days following the course start date, a refund may be requested.
- The refund request must be made within 30 calendar days following the course start date by completing the Refund Request Form. No 2025–2026 enrollment fee payment will be refunded after 30 calendar days following the course start date.
- A refund may not be requested until the student has been officially withdrawn from the course by the enrolling counselor or school/division coordinator.
- Enrollment fees are not automatically refunded when a student is withdrawn from a course.
- Refunds will not be issued for reasons including, but not limited to:
- A student’s withdrawal from a Fall/Spring 2025-2026 course after the deadlines listed above
- A change in the student’s schedule
- Academic withdrawal
- Removal from a course due to disciplinary action
Refund Policy Details
Enrollments withdrawn after September 13, 2025, are subject to a 10% administrative fee. This fee helps cover the administrative costs associated with processing and managing student enrollments. This policy applies only to enrollment fee payments made via credit card.
Fall 2025 Term
- You will receive a full refund of the 2025-2026 enrollment fee if a student is withdrawn from a Fall term course on or before September 13, 2025.
- After September 13, 2025, the enrollment fee is non-refundable.
Spring 2026 Term
- You will receive a refund of the 2025-2026 enrollment fee, less the 10% non-refundable administrative fee, if a student is withdrawn from a Spring term course on or before February 11, 2026. This fee helps cover the administrative costs associated with processing and managing student enrollments.
- After February 11, 2026, the enrollment fee is non-refundable.
Refund Exceptions
A full refund will be granted if Virtual Virginia cancels a course due to low enrollment or other programmatic reasons and is unable to provide a suitable alternative VVA placement for the student.
To request a refund under this exception, the school division or guardian must contact Virtual Virginia at [email protected] within 30 days of the course cancellation notification.
Other Considerations
- In the event of incidental or duplicate payments (e.g., double-clicking the payment button or paying for the same course twice), illness, death, family health emergencies, or credit card replacements, please contact Virtual Virginia at [email protected].
- If you dispute a VVA enrollment fee charge more than 30 days after the course start date, Virtual Virginia will not accept the disputed transaction.
