Athletics coaches at Virginia public high schools can now jump into free, online professional learning from Virtual Virginia and the Virginia High School League (VHSL).

The partnership between VVA and the VHSL will produce a series of online courses focused specifically on high school sports coaches. “Coaching Life Skills Through Sport” is the first course in the series and is now available for enrollment at no cost to high school coaches at Virginia public high schools.

“Coaching Life Skills Through Sport” helps each participating coach identify and define key life skills for their sports program, identify strategies for coaching life skills to student–athletes, and develop plans to incorporate strategies during their sport’s season. The self-paced, two-hour course was developed by faculty and staff at the Challace McMillin Center of Sport Psychology   at James Madison University. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion.
