Advanced Science 6 & 7 is an accelerated, integrated science course that combines Grade 6 and 7 science concepts through in-depth investigation. Students explore change, patterns, and relationships through the study of energy and matter, cellular organization, classification of organisms, ecosystems, genetics, and the solar system. Emphasis is placed on scientific inquiry, including experimental design, data analysis, use of technology, and scientific communication. Students strengthen reasoning skills through collaborative investigations and problem-solving.
This course aligns with the Virginia Standards of Learning for Science, Grade 6 and the Virginia Standards of Learning for Life Science.
