Statewide LMS Admin Webinar Series

Virtual Virginia and Instructure will host a series of professional learning workshops featuring best practices and free tools for technology leaders at Virginia’s public schools and divisions to use in the statewide learning management system (LMS).

The free webinars will guide participants in becoming comfortable in the role of Canvas administrator while highlighting best practices for the day-to-day administration of a school or division’s Canvas LMS instance. Canvas principal learning consultant Dave Dick will lead participants in sessions that cover LMS administration topics, including beta and test environments, admin-level settings, LTIs, reports, user roles, permissions, themes, sub-accounts, blueprint courses, global announcements, and much more. 

The webinar series is ideal for ITRTs/ITCs, Canvas LMS administrators, and technology leaders.

Session 1: Canvas Admin role, beta and test environments, admin-level settings

Session 2: Feature options, release notes, Canvas Community, LTIs, reports

Wednesday, July 20, at 10 a.m.


Session 3: User roles, permissions, themes, sub-accounts, CSVs

Wednesday, July 27, at 10 a.m.


Session 4: Rubrics, outcomes, question/item banks, grading periods/schemes, blueprint courses, templates, account-level groups, global announcements

Wednesday, August 3, at 10 a.m.


Each session will be recorded and the recording will be made viewable in the VVA Professional Learning Network.
