Economics and Personal Finance is a challenging, engaging course designed to help students interpret daily news, understand how interdependent the world’s economies are, and anticipate how events will impact their lives. Students will study a variety of concepts in both economics and personal finance with a focus on their practical applications. Course topics include the fundamentals of economic theory (like the price system and supply and demand), micro- and macroeconomics, the role of government and global economics, human capital and career decision making, banking/money management, and financial planning.
This course aligns with the Virginia Standards of Learning for Economics & Personal Finance.
