Data science is the domain of study that deals with vast volumes of data using modern tools and techniques to find unseen patterns, derive meaningful information from that data, and make business decisions. Students will combine skills in mathematics, statistics, computer science, critical thinking, and problem-solving to explore a variety of phenomena that can be described with data. The course is largely project-based, and students will have the opportunity to practice their data science skills on topics that interest them. Data science is a fast-growing industry with skills that are becoming more desirable to employers of all industries and domains.

This course aligns with the Virginia Standards of Learning for Data Science.
