03063 Biology II: Ecology

This course builds upon the detailed understandings of living systems addressed in Biology I. Students investigate the flow of matter and energy in biotic and abiotic components of an ecosystem; geochemical processes; chemical and biochemical processes essential for life; water chemistry and the impact of water on life processes; and processes and interactions of Earth systems. Content gives focus to the individual, populations, communities, ecosystems, biomes, and global issues. 

This course aligns with the Virginia Department of Education’s Science Content Guidelines for Biology II: Ecology.
